Facing stress during campus placements!

You’ll go nuts trying to balance your academics, extracurriculars, and your job placement preparations. That’s Ok!

Most of you might have already forgotten your extracurriculars by now, because of the placement preparations. I feel sorry for you guys!

Anyways, here are some moments when you might lose your cool during campus placements. I’ve heard stories and been in some of those moments too.

I want you to be aware of these, so that you understand that it’s very common to face stress during these placement times.

✅ When you get rejected by your dream company after nailing the written test or the aptitude and the group discussion but getting fired in the technical interview.

This has not happened to me so far, it was always the aptitude tests that took me off the road to interview. So, it never used to bother me. But, imagine passing through all of them and then failing at the end. Phew! It’s normal though.

✅ When you have to choose between two or more offers from different companies, and you are not sure which one is better for your career goals and personal preferences.

Ah, this has not happened to me as well, but I hear stories from juniors who are trying hard to choose between the companies. Yea, it can be sometimes challenging to decide between these. It’s normal.

✅ When you have no offers at all, and you see your friends celebrating their success and posting their offer letters on social media.

Wow, this could be the most daunting thing you could face in the college, even after putting in all the efforts and hard work beyond the other guys. Haha, don’t worry! You deserve something better than that.

✅ When you have to deal with annoying questions from your relatives, professors, and sometimes even your seniors about your placement status and future plans.

Ahh, this is the worst you can expect when you are still kickstarting your career. But, you know what! These people would even question you if you got placed too. Everyone will have opinions on the company you are placed, the package you get, the kind of work you are looking forward to. So, listen to nothing.

✅ When you have to cope with the pressure, anxiety, and uncertainty of finding a job in the current market.

Oh right, this one’s practical. But, don’t listen to those who always tell you that the companies are firing employees because of the current market. Though some of the companies do, most of the companies do hire as well. It’s just a matter of finding that company.

Alright, all of these are true, and I agree that it could be hard to undergo what you’re undergoing at the moment.

I understand that campus placements are not easy, but they are not the end of the world either.

Your career should always be perceived in 5 years or 10 years, rather than your first year of placement.

Don’t let the stress get to you, and don’t give up!

Trust me, you got this!

If you might need some help at any point of your placements, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Cheers! 🚀

Meet you in the DMs.
